On every street, in every corner of bars, in every place where shadows fall, there is a demon lurking, watching and influencing the hearts of the people to participate in sinful activities that leads the human race to contribute towards its own destruction, devastation and downfall. This demon, with its sadistic nature, likes feeding upon the weaknesses and the fears of others. We call this demon "gender inequality". Our society has been facing this problem since the beginning of time. Today, in the rapid changing environment, gender inequality is a very sensitive topic. Gender biasness is one of the greatest evils faced by an organization.

 

In 2015, only half of the world’s working-age women were in the labor force, compared to 77 percent of working-age men. Women, even currently hold 24, or 4.8 percent of CEO positions at S&P 500 companies. Only 30 percent of the world's researchers are women. Opportunities sometimes come knocking to your door, but for women living in a male dominated society, they have a need to generate opportunities for themselves if they want to be free from this type of domination. For this, the organization themselves also need to ensure that there are equal opportunities provided to both men and women in the workplace. This can be done by having both men and women in the same level in the organizational structure. In this way, the opportunities provided to both genders might be equal. When the organization will achieve providing of equal opportunities to both men and women, then only gender equality can be achieved. Hence, we make sure both men and women have equal opportunities.

 

Women with full-time jobs still earn only about 77 percent of their male counterparts’ earnings.  African-American women earn 64 cents and Latina women earn 56 cents for every dollar earned by a Caucasian man.  The gender pay gap is defined as the relative difference in the average gross hourly earnings of women and men within the economy as a whole. Even in today's world, with many modern technologies and equipments, there is a huge gap between the two genders; men and women that is seen radically with the salaries they are provided by the organization. In some of the organizations, the men and women working at the same level in the organizational structure are not paid equally. If this gap is reduced, then the general gender inequality prevailing in society can also go down to some extent. Hence, we minimize gender pay gap.

 

Every year, an estimated 15 million girls under 18 are married worldwide, with little or no say in the matter. One of the major challenges faced by any organization regarding gender inequality is maintaining a work life balance. Most households are taken care of by women, and there will arise a slight problem if the women are the working class people. Sometimes, because of the happenings at their houses or their personal lives, women may not be able to focus on their professional work. Therefore, for optimum utilization of human resources, more specifically the women, it is very important for the human resource manager to take into consideration their work life balance and help them out when and if necessary. Hence, we promote work life balance.

 

Performance appraisal, evaluation, or review is a way through which the performance of an employee is evaluated or documented based on the work they have done. Appraisals in turn can help staff members improve performance, and assist companies in devising or reorganizing job functions to better fit the position or the employee. When the process of this appraisal happens, there is a high possibility that the men will get more preferences because of many stereotypical beliefs of the people, even when the men and the women have done the same amount of work and are equally deserving. Hence, we have a fair evaluation.

 

62 million girls are denied an education all over the world. Four out of five victims of human trafficking are girls.  American women serving in Iraq or Afghanistan are more likely to be raped by a comrade then killed by an enemy.  The trend of giving professional training and development is becoming very popular and is being widely accepted in most organizations. Therefore, they can make gender equality a part of the training course as it is a very important aspect to consider if the organization wants optimum utilization for a maximum profit. Both men and women should get this training to understand and be educated about the laws and rights that exist in favor of women and gender equality. If this happens, then the entire workforce in the organization will be informed and somewhat have increased participation on spreading gender equality. Hence, we make gender equality a part of training and education.

 

In a world like today, gender equality is a very powerful, yet sensitive topic that has been arising in the society. Because of many feminist activities that have been carried out, the face of the stereotypical society is slowly changing. In every organization, there are many rights provided to the women employees so that they can give their best and can efficiently contribute towards the objectives of the organization. Because of all this, we can say that the world is becoming a better place for a woman to live in and it will become better if everyone contributes to a greater cause, "feminism".
